What do vampires, rich kids, cheerleaders and a group of liars have in common? They all make for excellent television, for one—but they're also perfect for the written word too.

In the spirit of today's awesome teen-friendly book release schedule (Teen Lit Tuesday!), Hollywood Crush wants to know—which of TV's numerous book-to-screen adaptations is your favorite? In that vein, just how many of our favorite shows actually got their start as books?

Turns out it's a lot. "Gossip Girl" and "The Vampire Diaries," two of The CW's most successful shows, are both based on popular teen lit series by Cecily von Ziegesar and L.J. Smith—though you probably knew that. But did you know "Hellcats" is also based on a book? "Cheer!," by Kate Torgovnik, is a non-fiction account of the competitive college cheerleading world—kind of like the "Friday Night Lights" of pom poms and spandex.

And let's not forget about Rosewood's most scandalous group of teenagers, the four ladies of ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars," who got their start as a series of books by Sara Shepard. (Not to mention the pilot the network just ordered based on Sara's newest series, "The Lying Game.")

Although we know waiting sucks, passing time until "True Blood" returns on June 26 is a little easier with one of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse novels. (Yeah, we know they're not YA, but we're including them because we can! Okay!?) Much like "Gossip Girl" and "TVD," "True Blood" skews very different from the books—but that's almost more fun, since you have two separate storylines for the same beloved characters.

So tell us: Which book-to-TV adaptation is your favorite? Vote in our poll after the jump!
